My older brother is a vet from Nam too. He told me some real horror stories, including his own injuries which were extensive and nearly killed him. He does not suffer PTSD even though men in his unit did. Everyone is different.

As for McCain talking about his captivity, his recent comments are within the context of his life story, insofar as it is a biography of a man running for president. Until now he rarely if ever discussed it, so your point is off base in my opinion. Republicans tend to just do things and not look for praise. I didn't know how much charity his wife has been involved with until the RNC convention. Should they have left her good deeds out as well even though they are part of who she is?

I also served in Vietnam, but was in the Army and like many of combat veterans now suffer from PTSD,( Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). If all is true about McCain's torture,etc, as a POW, I have no doubt that he too suffers from PTSD. he at times has displayed some of the symptom. He needs to release his medical records, it would be interesting to see what drugs he is taking for his PTSD
An after thought, its funny that Mc can talk about his horrible times as a POW, most of the guys I know, never even talk about VietNam.

2nd video - Wow McCain has no idea what it's like to be an average American struggling to get by.
3rd video - holy crap this is obviously fake... and not even faked well. Wow I wonder how much of the other videos were contrived pieces of trash?

It is not meant to appear to be real, it looks fake for a reason. If you want to spot a hoax, start with meetbarackobama.com, mccain's website (which is all meetbarackobama.com offers links to), and FOX news.

I despair at the utter stupidity of so much of this country. People literally vote with their prime time pop media sensibilities! Let one Republican who supports McCain actually go to BOTH candidates websites and compare tax plans-- by self-admission McCain is offering more taxes for the lower 95% of income earners and less taxes the top 5%-- and that's compared to BUSH!!!!
